EducationSUNY Stony Brook - BS, Biochemistry
ExperienceI graduated from Stony Brook University with my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. I have actually been tutoring since high school, where I helped others students in algebra and trigonometry. During college, I was a teacher's assistant for a cellular and organ physiology class. One thing that makes me a good tutor is that I'm able to clearly convey concepts to students verbally, visually, and audibly. I tutor students in many math and science classes, as well as standardized tests such as the MCAT and SAT II subject tests. I can also prepare students to take the Regents exams in a number of topics. My approach to tutoring is organized, and I always come to study sessions prepared and excited to teach. For students preparing to take the MCAT, I provide "cheat sheets" on a number of specific topics (organic chemistry, physics, etc.) that I help them prepare during our first study session together. For other standardized tests, I can recommend the best study books students can buy, and then help them work through the material. Learning is a passion of mine, and I like to engage students in the subject matter we are working on. My other interests include basketball, running, and volunteering.
